For all those interested, here’s a Q&A interview I did for an upcoming post on an SEO blog on the history and future of AdClerks.
Hope you enjoy!
1. How did AdClerks get started in the industry?
We initially got started as PublicityClerks.com back in 2012 as an alternative to BuySellAds.
Our focus was to provide a platform for smaller publishers to make direct ad sales.
In 2016, we rebranded to AdClerks.com, officially set up a company with an office and have continued with our focus, however, we now have much larger publishers on board such as Dell.com and PasteBin.com to name a few.
Since we started, our team hasn’t always stayed the same, however, over the last few years the core team has remained and comprises of 3 key people:
James Hakim – Founder
Mark Willis – Chief Technology Officer
Prathmesh Ranaut – Chief Information Officer
2. What features make AdClerks unique?
The AdClerks marketplace is our unique custom built software as a service marketplace (SAAS) which allows publishers to make direct ad sales on their own terms.
The benefits of our SAAS marketplace are:
- 100% customization: set your own prices, locations/sizes & approve/deny ads
- Reach advertisers interested in direct advertising on your site
- Backfill unsold ad zones to SwiftAds or Adsense
- Get paid by PayPal, BTC or direct to your bank account
Another unique feature is SwiftAds, this is our unique in-house CPM ad solution which monetizes unsold ad zones while publishers wait for direct ad sales.
SwiftAds is an Adsense alternative for those not approved for Adsense or with low CTR % rates.
3. What are SwiftAds and why should we be using them?
As mentioned above, SwiftAds is an in-house CPM ad solution which is exclusive to AdClerks publishers. They work by monetizing unsold ad zones while publishers wait for direct ad sales from the marketplace.
The key benefits of SwiftAds are:
- One-click setup
- Competitive CPM rates with 100% fill
- Monetizes unsold/remnant ad zones
- 100% clean banner display ads with no pop-ups/redirects
- Exclusive to AdClerks publishers
4. Who should advertise with AdClerks?
Anyone on a budget who wants to get targeted leads or conversions should advertise with AdClerks.
Advertising via AdClerks marketplace:

We offer a choice of different niches, price ranges, and duration of ads e.g monthly or CPM ads to help advertisers find the right site to advertise on.
We make things even easier for advertisers by providing a pre-packed list by niche called Ad Bundles.
We also provide a list of top performing ad zones based on CTR called Top Ad Zones.
Advertising via SwiftAds:

We go one step further by allowing advertisers to target our publishers who are specifically using SwiftAds.
This allows advertisers to laser target publishers remnant ad zones by:
- Traffic type (desktop or mobile)
- Frequency cap
- Video ads supported
- CPM or CPC pricing
5. What traits are AdClerks looking for in a publisher?
We have a list of requirements we generally look for in publishers but to be honest these rules don’t always apply.
We’re looking to work with publishers dedicated to providing a friendly user experience.
This is the most important thing, whether you have a lot of traffic or not.
There a lot of definitions on what counts as a friendly user experience but generally speaking this should entail a clean UX/UI, minimal disruption to the user (no pop-up ads), a responsive design and good content/service.
Sadly, at the moment we’re only approving around 5% of all applications due to publishers submitting websites that don’t meet the requirements above.
6. What new features or expansions is AdClerks working on?
We’ve just expanded our payment methods on the checkout page, deposit page and on the cash out withdrawal pages.
We now support BTC payments/wallets, international bank transfer as well as PayPal across the entire platform.
We’re now working on a new homepage with redesigned inner-pages to enhance the current UX and UI.
We’re also working on IP logging on the users who visit our publishers. This will allow us to provide a detailed breakdown of the traffic source, quality and users to our advertisers to help them make more informed decisions.
7. Is there anything else we should know about AdClerks?
We’re a young company with a big mountain to climb in providing a platform for publishers and advertisers to buy and sell direct ads.
We want our service to be reliable, easy and ultimately beneficial to all our users.
So please bear with us as we continually improve this service for you.
As always, we’re open to your feedback and thoughts, just email us here at firstname.lastname@example.org
