It’s no secret that the social network is seriously cutting the reach for business pages, in order to somehow force you to invest in Facebook Ads and is actually a natural move from the social network. After all, they want to earn more and what better way to do it than through advertising?
However, if you’re constantly suffering after checking the impact your posts have, we have some good news for you! There’s no need to panic, since there are some tricks you can try, in order to keep reaching your followers and staying visible on Facebook, without investing anything but some time.
Sounds pretty good to be true, isn’t it? Well, we must tell you one secret: these aren’t guarantee to work, since there are a lot of factors which can affect your overall reach, but if you apply while targeting the right audience (and targeting correctly is vital for this), you will be surprised about how good your results will be.
Ready? Let’s find out how it can be done…
Videos, as many videos as possible!
Take a quick look at your news feed. How many of the posts you’re seeing are videos? Pretty much of all of them? Well, this happens because video content is dominating the Internet right now and Facebook prioritizes this type of content.
It’s all about creating content, after all!
The idea is simple: videos can improve your reach. But what happens if you don’t have any original videos to post? No worries! Most of the videos you see on Facebook are curated from other pages. You can do the same, as long as you mention the source/give credit to the creator and keep the content relevant to your niche.
Turn yourself into a content curator
Once again, you don’t necessarily need to post original content, since you can look in other places, find good stuff, post it and always mention the source. Share articles, images, and videos that will keep followers coming back for even more!
Facebook’s algorithm works in such manner that the more often somebody connects with what you post, the more often they will actually see your content in their Newsfeed.
One of the best ways to encourage engagement is to get as many comments as possible. But how can you encourage fans to do it? Pretty easy: start with a comment from the fan page itself, in order to get the conversation going.
Besides this, it will always be a good idea to ask questions or even give incentives to increase the number of comments!
Encourage likes and shares as well
The same Facebook algorithm can see how many people like and comment your content, so it adjusts the reach. One easy way to make your posts stand out is to encourage followers to like it or even share it with their network.
However, you should never directly ask for this, since it can affect you in a negative way. If you post great stuff, these will come naturally. Also, having a good relationship with your fans also helps a lot in your attempt of staying visible on Facebook
Interact with big brands
First of all, we need to mention that this is one of our favorite approaches, since if you succeed, you can get tons of exposure and reach. But like the other methods, nobody can guarantee that you will get a response.
The idea is simple: look for a few big pages (preferably related to yours, but this is not mandatory) and comment on their posts. However, in order to get noticed by them, at least one of these two conditions must be met:
- You comment something that’s ridiculously funny or witty. Usually, such comments receive a lot of likes and tend to get noticed by the brand, who, in their attempt to maintain interaction, will respond. And guess what? Everybody will be curious to see what that page who got all the likes is about!
- You are among the first who comment. Some brands respond to the first few comments to a post, again, in order to start interaction and generate engagement. Still, don’t just leave a random comment, like “Nice”! Instead, say something which can allow you to start a conversation with the brand.
And there you have it! These five tips, if applied properly, should help you stay visible on Facebook and get that reach you’re constantly after without paying a dime for advertising.
